Newly launched Himachal Pradesh-based consumer electronics firm, Markson, has unveiled a product range including LCD televisions, DVD players and laptops.
Like great Businessman Dhirubhai Ambani, Markson claims it will offer “quality electrical products at affordable prices for India’s masses.”
Markson’s LCD televisions will start from Rs 20,000 for a 20-inch model, while a basic home theatre system, will retail at Rs 6,000. All LCD screens will include a USB port to allow buyers to screen films directly from memory sticks.
“About 60-70 per cent of the manufacturing will take place in India,” Markson President, Mr S.K. Mathur, said. Five hundred employees are spread across factories in Baddi, Parwanoo and Haridwar. But laptops will be imported from China, along with refrigerators, microwaves and air conditioners, which will be available by the middle of the year.
