The Drag and Drop MP3 Walkman by Sony
September 11, 2007
Keeping up with the tradition of manifesting the best in technology, Sony India has launched its latest MP3 Walkman NWD-B100 series . Compact and stylish in look, this great value MP3 player features a USB direct connect, a three-line color LCD display, an FM tuner with radio recording capabilities and a voice recorder function with a built-in microphone.
Sony has thus come out of its obsession with “Attrac Only” players. NWD-B100 not only syncs directly with Windows Media Player, but it can also be used as a USB drive, meaning you can drag-and-drop files across. But, unfortunately Sony’s own format Attrac is not supported!
The Sony MP3 Walkman NWD-B100 series player comes in two different capacities and colors. Available at select Sony showroom across the country, the NWD-B100 also comes supplied with comfortable, easy-to-wear headphones that team superb audio quality with stylish design.
NWD-B100 series walkmans are available in 2 Models:
Model NWZ-B103F
Memory Capacity: 1GB
No. of Songs: 660
Price (MRP): rS.3990/-
Colours: Black, White
Model NWZ-B105F
Memory Capacity: 2 GB
Max. no. Songs: 999
Price (MRP): Rs.4990/-
Colours: Black, White
As much as being forced to use Atrac was a pain on previous Sony models, I have to admit it’s a great codec, with small files and good sound quality. People who upgrade from other Sony players have a right to complain about not being able to use it.

It only plays music (and the radio) – no photos or videos – and each is about the size of your thumb. The big downside of NWD-B105F/B is the battery life. It’s only 12 hours, much less than the NWE’s 30.
